Minis Weymouth (and Quins!) weekend
- added 4 April 2008- archived 4 July 2008
We took 134 players, coaches and parents on tour to Weymouth this weekend, tired them out, put the clocks forward and got them up early and they still managed to perform brilliantly against stong opposition. Another proud day for the club.
For full match reports, see these pages: Quins Cup Final and Bournemouth Festival.
Guildfordians Festival of Mud 2008
- added 29 March 2008- archived 29 June 2008
It was touch and go about whether it would go ahead or not and most groups cut short the pool games early because of the persistent rain, strong cold wind and quagmire of mud that developed - child safety is a priority - but the festival was a huge amount of fun for many youngsters.
At the end of it the U7s, U8s, U9s and U10s were all unbeaten and topping their tables and winning their finals. I'm not sure if that's a full house or a royal flush but it was a proud proud day for the club.
With the Bisons now providing the senior sides at the club there is continuity through to senior rugby and a bright and exciting future for Guildfordians with these youngsters showing such dedication, commitment and skill at such a young age.
A special thank you to the Council for allowing the festival to go ahead, despite the conditions. Key personnel: Antony Makepeace, Club Chairman, Simon Davies, Minis Chairman, David Knight Festival Organiser.
See this page for full match reports, and some photos from the festival are here.

As you know, our wonderful club is run by volunteers - mostly parents - including our coaches who work so hard every sunday.
The one task we ask ALL parents to get involved in is to help set up and clear up once in a while. This isn't an onerous task, and one which each age group only has to do on around five occasions each year.
The duty rota is now published in the diary for the 2007/08 season (minis, youth, girls) - see the last column, so could you all please put the dates for your age group in your diaries and please make yourself available to your age group coach on the day. Many thanks.
