Match report from Cranfordians Colts v Horsham - 29 November 2009

Brave Battle: Cranfordians Colts - 0 Horsham Colts - 36

Cranfordians Colts fought a brave battle in dreadfully cold & wet conditions against a powerful Horsham Colts side, eventually losing 36-0, but that olny tell half the tale.

However this was far from a one sided game, with most of Horsham's tries coming from breakaways as a result of handling errors in the totally attrocious conditions. It has to be said that Horsham handled the conditions better & made a good start, scoring their opener after some good hands put their left winger over in the corner.

They then attacked from a lineout, pulled the cover defence in & forced their way over again. The home side then regrouped & held their own for a while until conceding twice more.

Half time was more about keeping the boys warm & stopping them shivering! They showed great spirit though to only concede once more in the 2nd half. In fact they dominated the rest of the game, getting the scrum in gear. The lineout did well too in the extremely trying conditions. With a backline full of forwards it was most interesting.

Overall it was a performance of great character. One of which the boys can be rightly proud.
