Match report from U13s v Cranleigh - 6 December 2009
Under 13's - Friendly V Cranleigh - 32 – 22 Win
Our first game of December was a hastily rearranged game against our near neighbours Cranleigh. With almost a full squad we took to the pitch in soggy conditions for a hotly contested game. From the initial kick off Cranleigh put us under considerable pressure before the ball was won by the pack for Big Sam to sprint the length of the pitch to score. Our three quarters were revamped and with the pack holding their own we were able to run the ball with considerable threat.
However the next score was by Cranleigh where they outflanked our threequarters, and broke through some weak tackling. Throughout the game tries were swapped but with our forwards dominating their own set pieces and at times foraging wellto steal the ball we always seemed to be in control. At half time with many changes to give all a game we continued to play well, with Andrew being unlucky not to score after a good break being hauled down 5m from the try line, and once again Big Sam doing his impression of the water Log flume ride that can be enjoyed at many theme parks. Well played to all with excellent play from all individuals.
